Curry Lumber and Pole Building Company

  • 1853 - Founded by James Curry in Wooster, Ohio.
  • 1864 - Son joined company.
  • 1867 - Two other sons joined company.
  • 1874 - Company named D.C.Curry & Company after son.
  • 1901 - The D.C.Curry Lumber Companys' was incorporated in Ohio on June 20th.
  • 1921 - Moved to present location: 331 West Henry Street, Wooster, Ohio
  • 1950 - Curry started building Postframe buildings (Pole Barns) out of round poles, and are still building Postframe buildings today.


  • Today -
    • Curry is the third oldest business in Wooster, Ohio.
    • Curry is the third oldest lumber yard in the state of Ohio.
    • Curry builds all year round and all types of buildings.
      Commercial, Residential, Equestrian (Horse Barns), and Agricultural (Farm Barns).
